What’s the best pizza in Portage County?

Lucci’s place is a really good New York style pizza in Kent, had it on Monday.

I should add that the reason I’m asking is to see how much excitement there is around a “Best of Portage County” contest. I’m curious whether people have lots of opinions and good recommendations. I started with pizza here because it’s obvious. But in theory we could come up with crowdsourced top 3s for all manner of business, from bars and restaurants to dentists and landscapers.

As someone that is always down for pizza I don’t think I have had many different local shops.

My normal spot(s): Gionino’s, Dominos, and Little Caesars all in Streetsboro.

But I work in downtown Kent and will sometimes grab some pizza from Guy Pizza, or Euro Gyro (Especially on Wednesdays for lunch).

Lucci’s place - Hands down, best pizza in Kent! I am not even a pizza person! Worth the wait! Just be aware of the tiny shop though with its limited crew… orders could be swapped between customers when things get busy (which happened once).

It has to be Crafted use to be the Brick oven brew pub till they closed. The Brimfield Bread oven makes a mean pizza as well. Was better when wood fired. I think Hudson has two palms as well.

My #1 pizza is Gionino’s in Ravenna! I love their red sauce as it is a good balance between sweet and acidic and their crust is perfect. #2 for me is Guido’s in Ravenna. So yummy and they’ve been around for generations. Sauce is really good but a tiny bit more acidic than Gionino’s. Really good crust too.

Good day oven, which opened recently in North Water!

Siclianos in Ravenna. They have the best chicken too

Are they in North Water Brewing? I will have to give them a try!

The RC used to do a Best Of but since it was consolidated with the ABJ and Gannett, very few Portage County business even get nominated.

Cosentino’s in Rootstown has a fabulous meatball pizza!

My favorite thing from Cosentino’s in Rootstown is their Stromboli! The best I’ve ever had, anywhere! And they are so nice! They really work to keep the prices down.

Siciliano’s in Ravenna, for sure!

Good Day Oven, forever and ever! Inside North Water Brewing.
