I cannot understand why anyone is pro-AI (LLMs to be correct) in any sense considering that (1) AI is known to “hallucinate” data and (2) AI by its nature steals, excuse me, “borrows” data, likely violates copyright and other data protections in doing what it does. So AI lies and steals, and people find that okay.
And let’s not forget that large, for-profit corporations control these LLMs, so if one truly believes that the data that an LLM spits back out to you is not biased, viz., intentionally ignores some data, intentionally preferences other data, one is not paying attention. Google, e.g., is well-known to effectively sell top search spots; all corporations have agendas and preferred POVs. Why in the world would anyone presume that those who own/produce AI models for public use do not also control their output, make sure certain viewpoints are ignored or treated as trivial?
Bluntly put: one cannot trust AI.
So why would one be okay with putting in a data center anywhere? Money? Money makes the ethical and moral questions just disappear? Is that what America is really about? Money and nothing else?
