As a Portage County resident - though not a Crestwood district resident - I am following this closely because School Resource Officer decisions affect public trust well beyond one school system.
While I respect that multiple agencies may believe they are acting appropriately, situations like this highlight why transparency and independent scrutiny matter. When questions arise about hiring processes, background reviews, or inter-agency communication, the community deserves clear explanations grounded in policy rather than conflicting public statements.
Encouraging continued reporting and deeper investigation is not about targeting any one person or office. It is about ensuring accountability, consistent governance, and confidence that student safety decisions are made through a process the public can understand and trust.
